The Office of Marketing Communications at Washington State University in Pullman seeks an experienced professional for the position of Marketing Writer/Editor (official title: Publications Coordinator). This position will research, write, and edit copy for a variety of marketing collateral, including print, advertising, Web, and other media. The position partners with campus colleagues to ensure that messaging in all media supports marketing objectives, and coordinates the creation of marketing projects through writing, design, production, and distribution.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be able to prioritize and manage projects, thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and enjoy working and collaborating with a large and diverse team of individuals from within and outside of the university.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications or related field and three years of professional level writing/editing experience which has included word processing computer applications and a demonstrated knowledge of graphic arts principles.
- Expert knowledge of English writing and grammar.
- Experience working with marketing professionals, editors, graphic and Web designers, Web programmers, and photographers.
- Proven ability to excel in a collaborative environment and to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of marketing principles.
- Familiarity with Web publishing concepts.
- Full-time experience writing and editing content in a marketing-oriented environment, preferably in a higher education setting.s
- Good conceptualization abilities.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Salary
- $40,000+, depending on qualifications and experience.
